Milton Henke

September 14, 1912 — March 29, 2010

Milton was born September 14, 1912, at Kiester, MN, the son of Emil and Agnes (Henke) Henke. He was a 1930 graduate of Blue Earth High School and was a lifetime Blue Earth resident. Milt worked at his fathers business, Blue Earth Auto Hospital, following high school. He was married to Beatrice A. Henke on August 26, 1935 in Blue Earth. When his father retired in 1958, Milt and his brother Herb Hubs purchased the family business which became Blue Earth Body & Fender Works. The brothers continued to own & operate the business until retirement in 1978. Milt was a 30 year member of the Blue Earth Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Chief from 1953 to 1969. He was also a lifetime member of Salem United Methodist Church, now Hope United Methodist Church, where he was one of the founders of the Home Builders Sunday School Classes. Milt enjoyed traveling, camping, woodworking, hunting, fishing and photography. Milton is survived by his son, Roger (Margaret) Henke of Red Wing, his son, Donald (Janet) Henke of Sun Lakes, Arizona, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, his brother, Kenneth (Fran) Henke of Los Angeles, California and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Beatrice in 2000, a son, Allen Henke, a daughter, Marilyn Henke, a brother, Herbert Henke and two sisters, Bernice Henke and June Shiffler.
