Yvonne Annette Curtis

Yvonne Annette Shelstad Curtis, age 82, of Elmore, MN, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Parkview Care Center in Wells, MN.

Yvonne was born in Red Wing, MN on May 29, 1943. She was the daughter of Benroy and Ethel Shelstad. Yvonne graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1961. After high school, Yvonne moved to Elmore to become a secretary for the superintendent at Elmore Public Schools. She had two children, Dawn and David. She later became a CNA at Lakeview Methodist Nursing Home for 15 years before retiring and then working part time at the Elmore Liquor Store. She loved to read and spend time with her family, attending so many of her grandchildren’s events. Spending time with her greats brought her such joy in the later years of her life.

Yvonne is survived by her brother, Ronald (Marie) Shelstad; her children, Dawn (Bryce Andersen) Fellows and David (Christi) Curtis; her grandchildren, Jon (Kelly) Hagedorn, Morgen (James) Simpson, Allie (Dylan) VanBrocklin, Zachary (Quinn) Curtis, Natali Fellows and Tyler Fellows; her great-grandchildren, Jack, Owen, Brooks, and Briggs; her sisters-in-law, Lynette (Arv) Smith and LaFaye Packer; Jim Fellows; her nieces and nephews, and many beloved fur babies.

Yvonne is preceded into death by her parents, Benroy and Ethel Shelstad.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 11th at Shiloh Lutheran Church, Elmore, MN with Pastor Bob Roettger officiating. Reception will follow. Family welcomes everyone to join them for light lunch and fellowship time.
