Wanda Jean Ogilvie, born May 17, 1955, peacefully passed away on September 6, 2025, at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth, Minnesota. She was 70 years old. Wanda was one of 5 children to Robert “Bob” and Irene (Pirsig) Ogilvie.
Wanda started working at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center in 1981, after a brief time working for Telex. She dedicated 44 years of her life to serving others at St. Lukes, where she worked as a nursing assistant. Wanda loved her work, caring for many residents, her co-workers, and always with a willingness to help others in need. One of her co-workers said, “She was the rock of St. Lukes”. Often spending the night there to be sure she was present and ready for her next shift. Wanda’s caring nature and unwavering kindness made a profound impact on the lives of the elderly residents. Her gentle spirit, combined with her generous heart, created a warm and welcoming environment for all those who knew her. She was not only a devoted professional but cherished friend to many. During her last several months, Wanda was often asked “Are you in pain?” and she always responded with “I’m ok”. She never wanted to let others know how bad things were for her.
Wanda treasured time spent with her twin sister, Rhonda, with whom she shared a unique and unbreakable bond. She loved reading, M&M’s and was always up for garage sales with her friend Hazel. Wanda had a gift for making everyone feel seen and valued, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
She is survived by her loving twin sister Rhonda (Terry) Mathews and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lloyd and Robert “Billy” Ogilvie; older sister, Blanche “Toots” Emery; and nephew, Timothy Ogilvie.
Her family would like to thank the staff at St Luke’s for the exceptional care Wanda received. She loved them all.
In lieu of flowers please send a donation to St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center where Wanda spent so much of her time caring for others.
