Troy Vaudt

November 3, 1979 — July 3, 2022

Troy Vaudt, age 42 of Buffalo Center passed away Sunday July 3, 2022. A celebration of his life and visitation will be Monday July 11 from 4-7pm at the Heritage Town Center in Buffalo Center. There will be a brief service at 7pm followed by burial at Graceland Cemetery.

Troy was born on November 3rd, 1979, in Emmetsburg, IA and was raised in Whittemore, IA. He graduated from Algona High School and was a wrestler for Algona High school. His love for that sport continued his entire life. He even went on to coach North Iowa Youth Wrestling and loved wrestling his nephews any chance he could. He was thrilled when his son and youngest daughter took an interest in wrestling. Troy enjoyed working with heavy equipment and moving dirt was in his blood, which eventually turned into his career. Troy worked for various construction companies until starting his own company in 2017 – Winnebago Land Improvement. He was also a fire fighter for the Buffalo Center Volunteer Fire Department for 14 years.

Troy married Melissa Walton on November 9th, 2013. Troy and Melissa enjoyed random getaways visiting small town bars. During their travels Troy would point out all his completed jobs in random places all over the countryside. He had a love for life, people, and animals.  His family was never surprised when he brought home a stray animal. He would be the first to help anyone in need and never asked anything in return. Troy was an advocate for supporting his hometown small businesses. His generosity was endless. Anyone who knew Troy would understand the statement “What the hell you are doing here?”, along with his passion to state his opinion on matters, especially politics. Troy loved to research and learn anything and everything that came across his path. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an inspiration for everyone with his acts of kindness and his contagious smile and signature laugh will always be remembered.

Troy is survived by his wife Melissa, along with their four children: Kinley and Ryann Vaudt, Sidney Walton (Jarret Fairholm), Brett Walton (fiancé Natasha Droessler).
