Terry Hawley

Terrence Ralph Hawley, age 85 of Blue Earth passed away Saturday July 11, 2026 at St. Luke’s Care Center. A memorial service will be held at 11am Tuesday July 21 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Online condolences can be left at www.pattonfh.com

Terry was born on March 21, 1941 in Blue Earth to Bob and Caroline (Dobson) Hawley. He graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1958, then served in the US Air Force before returning to Blue Earth. He was united in marriage to Judith K. Erichsrud on July 21, 1963 and welcomed a son, Kristin into their family.

Terry worked at Green Giant Company for a number of years before finding his calling as a carpenter and woodworker. He was employed by Ankeny & Wiederholt Construction of Blue Earth for many years and was proud to be a part of the building of numerous Super Valu and Cub Food stores throughout the region before retiring.

His wife Judy died in 2017. Terry then met Marlys Larson, his soulmate and best friend and they were married on June 8, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. For the next seven years, their home was filled with joy and love that overflowed to family, friends and strangers alike as the seasonal changes were colorfully celebrated and furry friends brightened their days.

Terry is survived by his beloved wife of 7 years, Marlys; son Kris (Mary Ann), grandson Daniel and granddaughter Katie; brothers John and Robert (Sylvia); sister Karen (Lloyd) Koestler and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind numerous members of the Larson family that he welcomed with open arms, step-sons; Terry (Becky), Jeff (Sharon), Richard, Tim (Laurie), step-daughters and especially dear Annie and Jacob Eschrich.

He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Judy, an infant daughter, brother Billy, sister Evonne (Homer) Hickok, niece Kimberly, sister-in-law Di Hawley, mothers-in-law Leona Nation and Elizabeth Eschrich and Marlys’ son Bob.
