Ronald Lee Distad, 77 of Blue Earth passed away Tuesday May 7, 2019 at the Mankato Clinic Health System.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday May 15 at Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor Russ Jacobsen officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday May 14 from 5-7pm at Patton Funeral Home and again one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Ronnie was born on October 22, 1941 to Kenneth and Veva (Moats) Distad in St. Paul, MN. They later moved to Blue Earth where he graduated from high school and resided most of his life.
On December 31, 1970 he married his true love, Lorna Kolander. Together they raised two beautiful daughters. Ronnie worked for many years as a truck driver, hauling grain and cattle among other things. He also worked for many years at Custom Built Pneumatics in Blue Earth.
Ronnie enjoyed many things in life; fishing up north with his buddies, playing cards and pool, cruising around town, whether it be on a bicycle or lawnmower and he very much enjoyed listening to music. He was a great story teller and could make anybody laugh even on their worst day. But nothing brought him more joy and happiness than his family, especially his grandchildren. They brought out the best in him.
Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife, Lorna of Blue Earth, daughters; Dawn (Corrie) Rademaker of Blue Earth and Shelly (Spencer) Weir of Delavan. His grandchildren; Brooklyn and Logan Rademaker and Emersen and Ivy Weir. Sister Joan (Harlan) Hall of Blue Earth, brother Duane (Debbie) Distad of Hanska, sister-in-law Connie Distad as well as other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother LeRoy.
