Richard Leroy Weiland

Richard “Dick” Leroy Weiland, 78, of Fairmont passed away November 16, 2017.  Services will be Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 10 AM at Patton Funeral Home, Blue Earth, with visitation one hour prior.  Interment will follow in Sherburn City Cemetery with military honors by the Thomas P. Saxton American Legion post 356.   Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com Dick was born December 25, 1938 to Walter and Viola (Grussing) Peterson and after his father's death, he was later adopted by his stepfather Norman Weiland.  He proudly served in the US Airforce.  He enjoyed reading magazines about flying and cars- both old and new. He was a generous, compassionate and understanding man with a great sense of humor and a determined nature. Dick loved desserts, especially banana crème pie and german chocolate cake.  Dick is survived by daughters Laurie (Robert) Poirier, Lisa Goble, Michele Weiland (James Anderson); son, Richard “Randy” Weiland; grandchildren, Amanda (Tony) Wilson, Bren Goble, Analyssa Goble, Bailey Riedl, Dakota Weiland, Branden Hendrickson, Devin Weiland; great grandchildren, Madison Meyer, Dylan Meyer, Noah Riedl; sister, Sharon (John) Glawe and other family and friends.
