Reyes Hernandez Gonzalez

Reyes Hernandez Gonzalez, age 76 of Welcome, died Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Hillcrest in Mankato.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Blue Earth, with Pastor Jeanette Bidne Officiating. Visitation one hour before the service.

He was born January 6, 1950, in Tampico Tamaulipas, Mexico. The son of Wenceclau and Maria (Gonzalez) Hernandez.

Reyes was truly a jack of all trades. Throughout his life, he worked as a fisherman, wrestler, carpenter, mechanic, electrician, plumber, laborer, and field worker. No matter where he went, Reyes had a gift for making friends and leaving a lasting impression on those he met.

He loved spending time at the lake grilling with his family and cherished every opportunity to gather together, laugh, and create memories. Reyes was also known for his incredible piñata-making skills. He generously shared his talent by making piñatas for our family, including three for Trinity Lutheran church and fifteen for Blue Earth Area high school.

One of Reyes' greatest joys was returning to Mexico to visit his family. He loved spending time at the beach, visiting his sisters at their restaurant, and reconnecting with loved ones. He also enjoyed sharing stories from his past, keeping family history and cherished memories alive through his storytelling.

Above all, Reyes will be remembered for his hard work, his many talents, his warm heart, and the love he had for his family and friends.

Reyes is Survived by his children, Maria Osorio of Forth Worth TX, Reyes Hernandez Jr. of Laredo TX, Maria (Jeremy) Frank of Blue Earth MN, Wenseslau Hernandez of Welcome MN, Maria (Juan) Mendieta of Fort Worth TX; his brother, Margarito Hernandez; his sisters, Domitila, Juana, and Antoina Hernandez of Tampico Tamaulipas Mexico; his grandkids, Jose, Reyes, Myra, Lullianna, Angelica, Adriana, Clara, Reyes III, Angela, Miguel Angel, Maximilliano, Clarissa, Daimen, Isabella and Juan Jr. Many nieces and nephews and his ex-wife, Maria Trevino of Winnebago MN.

Reyes was preceded in death by his parents, Wenceclau and Maria Hernandez; his brothers, Angel, Pedro, Fernando, and Aurelio Hernandez; his sister, Vivana Herrera.
