Reece Daniel Oswald, age 37, of Frost, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018, at University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis surrounded by family and friends.
Visitation time will be Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 4:00pm-7:00pm, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at 11:00 AM, at United Lutheran Church in Frost, with Rev. Arne Halbakken officiating. Burial will be in United Lutheran Cemetery, Frost. Reece was born April 11, 1981, in Blue Earth, the son of Randy and Sue (Hogan) Oswald. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Lutheran Church in Frost, where he was a lifetime member, serving on the cemetery board and church council. He graduated from Blue Earth Area High School in 1999 where he participated on the basketball and golf teams. He attended Bethany Lutheran College and South-Central Technical College. While studying in Mankato he met Anna Ehlers, who on August 26, 2006 became his perfect partner and wife. They moved to Frost and Reece joined his father on the family farm. During this time Reece and Anna had two children, Ava 8, and Rex 5.
Reece was an avid Golfer, Golden Gopher Hockey lover, and a fan of All Minnesota Sports. But most of all he enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Reece is survived by his wife; Anna Oswald of Frost, his children; Ava and Rex, parents; Randy and Sue Oswald of Frost, sister; Sheena (Mike Arons) Oswald of Crystal, MN, nephew; Griffin, grandmother; Joanne Oswald, in-laws; Wayne and Sue Ehlers of North Mankato, MN, sister-in-law; Maria (Eric) Roth of St. Paul, nieces; Cecilia and Lily Roth and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Reece is preceded in death by his infant brother; Ryan Dale, infant sister; Ria Jeanne, uncle; Steve Hogan, aunt; Sally Hursh, grandparents; Jack and Donna Hogan, and grandfather; Ronald Oswald.
