Ramona Ehrich

Ramona Gloria Ehrich, 88 of Blue Earth, passed away on September 22, 2026 at Parker Oaks Advanced Care Center of Winnebago. Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday, October 1 at Hope United Methodist Church in Blue Earth. Visitation will start at 10am and burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. Ramona was born February 23, 1938 to Fremont and Dorothy (Schaefer) Paschke in Blue Earth. She grew up on a farm east of town. She attended country school and Blue Earth High School.

Ramona married Gilbert Ehrich on February 23, 1958 at Immanuel Methodist Church. They moved to the farm in Elmore township in 1964, raising 2 daughters, Sandy and Vickie. Ramona was a farm wife, but also held several jobs through the years, including a Nutrition Aide through the Extension Office, church secretary at Salem United Methodist church for many years, and also worked for several years at Carlson Crafts in Mankato.

Ramona will be remembered for her love of farm life in particular her raising of horses. She loved riding and everything cowgirl, and passed that passion down to her daughters where she became active in helping the local 4H Club and taking her girls to local shows almost every weekend. Later in life she is remembered by her grandchildren for collecting pinecones at the cemetery, making beautiful cards and sewing projects at monthly classes held in Blue Earth, collecting Beanie Babies, and eating out at the Chinese Buffet in Fairmont. She also loved watching her Westerns on what she coined as the Boob Tube. Ramona was the “queen” of the local Red Hats Society group and loved bowling on the “Sparette” team in Winnebago.

She was a devoted mom, attending all the events that her daughters participated in. And she spread that love to all of her nieces and nephews, inviting them to spend time at the farm whenever possible.

Ramona is survived by her two daughters, Sandy Kitts (Allen) and Vickie Taylor (Chad), grandsons Joshua Guth (Liz), Tristan Guth (Rose), Alex Ehrich (Joelle), Willow Ehrich, Jonathan Taylor, and Jade Taylor, Great-grandchildren Gage Guth, Billy Guth, Arie Gilbert Ehrich, and Lena Adrienne Ehrich. Ramona was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Gilbert, her parents Fremont and Dorothy Paschke, her siblings Ron Paschke, Don Paschke, Julaine Cook, Emily Morrison, and Vernon Paschke.
