Penny Jean McLeod

Penny Jean McLeod, age 61, of Wadena, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Lakewood Health System Senior Campus in Staples.

A public visitation in celebration of Penny’s life will be held on Monday, July 13 from 4-7pm at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth. Memorial service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, July 14 at Patton Funeral Home with Rev. Russ Jacobsen officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery. Penny was born on March 11, 1959 in Blue Earth to Norma Greiman and Clark Rickard. She was raised by Norma and her step-father, John Greiman. Penny attended Blue Earth Highschool and went on to take college courses in Lincoln, NE. On June 26, 2004 Penny married Leonard “Lenny” McLeod. The couple had just celebrated an anniversary.

Penny kept herself busy throughout life and worked many jobs. A few of which included, bus driving, clerical work, CNA, and PCA home health. She also was a foster mother. Penny was previously a member of United Methodist Church in Elmore. During her time there, she taught Sunday school and was a member of the church choir.

She enjoyed gardening & canning, attending community events, and spending time outdoors. Penny also loved driving around the lakes with Lenny, gardening with him, and having campfires. Lenny took good care of Penny during their time together. Penny loved her family dearly. She was a devoted mother, and took special care of daughter, Sheila. Penny enjoyed her visits with Shelia, overseeing her doctor visits, and bringing Shelia her favorite snacks.

Penny will be missed. She is survived by her husband, Lenny; daughters, Chelsie (Jeremy) Wink of Welcome, and Sheila Klein of Wadena; brother, Scott Greiman of Lincoln, NE; and one grandson, Caleb Wink.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Norma Greiman; grandmother, Helen Hanson; and two stillborn children, Christian and Shawna.
