Nicole Marie Oelke

Nicole Marie (Mensing) Oelke age 35 of Blue Earth died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones after a 2-year battle with cancer. 

Visitation will be from 4:00pm-7:00pm Monday, September 17, 2018 at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth and one hour prior to the service at the church.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday September 18, 2018, 11:00am at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth with Father Peter Klein officiating.  Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Blue Earth.  Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com

Nici was born October 13th, 1982, the daughter of Mark and Mary (Vosler) Mensing. She was raised in Blue Earth her whole life and graduated high school in 2001. She attended Presentation College nursing program where she graduated with a BSN.  She went on to work for UHD Home Health and Hospice in the fall of 2012 in Blue Earth. Nici was well respected in her RN field and enjoyed taking care of her patients to the fullest.

Nici and Bart first met at daycare. Many years later in the fall of 2009 they were reunited and then married October 5^th, 2013 at the Oelke Family Farm. They have two kids, Zoa Marie and Marcus Allen. Nici loved spending time with family and friends, motorcycle rides with Bart, boating in the summer, bon fires in the fall, and sledding with her kids in the winter. There were many things in life that Nici loved, but there wasn’t anything more important to her than her children. She always had fun adventures planned to take them to, whether it was going to the apple orchards, the zoo, the kid’s museum or even just going to the park, the kids loved it and so did Nici.

Nici is survived by her husband Bart, children; Zoa and Marcus. brother; Paul (Danika Stindtman) Mensing and their children Jaydyn and Malachi, maternal grandmother; Marie Vosler, in-laws; Bohn and Laurie Oelke, sister-in-law; Jadryn Oelke as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins other extended family and great friends.

Nici is preceded in death by her parents; Mark and Mary Mensing, paternal grandparents; Norbert and Selma (Klatt) Mensing, maternal grandfather; Bill Vosler, aunts; Linda Tenquist and Sharon Mastain.
