It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Nancy (Gobats) Stowell on July 12, 2026, at her cherished home, surrounded by loved ones. Born on November 13, 1958, in Virginia, Minnesota, Nancy was a beacon of warmth and joy, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with her vibrant spirit and compassionate heart.
Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Samuel and Delores (Smeland) Gobats, and is preceded in death by her siblings Thomas/Tommy Gobats, Donna (Gobats) Larson, and Samuel Jr. Gobats. Her life was a testament to resilience and love, qualities she shared abundantly with her surviving family: her devoted partner of 25 years, Rod Simser, her loving daughter Lisha (Gobats) Roberts, her supportive son-in-law Tracy Roberts, and her cherished granddaughters, Brittany Albercht (Kyren Hanson) and Summer Albrecht. Nancy is also survived by her siblings, Zora Gobats and Jeff Gobats, along with numerous nieces and nephews, who will forever hold her memory close in their hearts.
Nancy's journey with Rod began at JM Manufacturing in Winnebago, MN, where their friendship blossomed into a love that spanned decades. Their bond was a testament to true partnership and true love.
Throughout her life, Nancy pursued various careers, but it was in her role as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) caring for Rod that she found her true calling. Her nurturing nature shone brightest in her career, where she selflessly gave her time and energy to ensure the well-being of others.
A lover of the great outdoors, Nancy found joy in gardening, canning, holidays, and the tranquility of the river, where she spent countless hours canoeing and fishing. Her home was filled with the warmth of her presence, laughter, and the love of family gatherings.
Nancy was the life of any party; her laughter and joy was infectious to all around her. She loved fiercely and deeply, and her greatest pride was her daughter and granddaughters, Brittany and Summer. Her face would light up with an ear-to-ear smile as she spoke of their accomplishments and shared her immense pride in their achievements.
Despite enduring many challenges, Nancy's spirit remained unbreakable. She lived her life with grace and courage, never allowing life's hardships to dim her vibrant spirit. Her legacy of love, strength, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew her.
In honoring Nancy's wishes, a celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date.
Nancy’s remarkable life and legacy will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends as they celebrate her life and the lasting mark she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed by her daughter and granddaughters; they will forever be the four peas in a pod. In the words of my mom, “Peace, Love and Bell Bottoms”. Cards can be sent to Lisha Roberts, 570 1st Ave SW, Wells, MN 56097.
