Minnie Michaels

Minnie Michaels, age 90, of Elmore, MN, passed away February 1, 2024 at United Hospital District in Blue Earth. Memorial services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth. A time for visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Minnie was born on July 7, 1933 in Greenwood Township, Kossuth County, Iowa to Lars and Minnie (Schaumberg) Garvick. Minnie married young and had four children. She was a resident of Elmore for a majority of her life and worked at the Elmore Nursery, waitressed in both Blue Earth and Elmore, worked at Browse a Bit Thrift Store, and retired from Telex after 20 years. Lovingly known as “Aunt Minnie” to friends and family, she enjoyed collecting ceramic chicken figurines, fishing, gardening, canning, flowers, and family reunions.

She is survived by her two daughters; sister, Violet & her husband Bob Armstrong of California; brother, Lenard & his wife Carol Garvick of Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Minnie and Lars Garvick; 14 siblings; and two sons.
