Marsha Kay Anderson, age 82 of Blue Earth, passed away at her home on Monday, March, 23rd, 2026. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 17th, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Pastor David Schultz officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth.
Marsha was born September 23, 1943 in Winnebago, MN to Orville and Dorothy (Emery) Petersen. She attended elementary and high school in Winnebago. She was married and later divorced. Marsha worked various jobs including the White House Café, Tafco Equipment, Massey Ferguson, and seasonal work at Green Giant. She enjoyed her years running the tourist information center known as, The Red Barn, and was active in the Christmas Wonderland Lights. Marsha always enjoyed meeting people from far and wide with never a dull moment. Crafting, embroidering, and punch embroidering were a big part of her life. She did craft shows for many years, even taking charge of the ones at the county fair for quite some time. Marsha made many snowman ornaments for her grandchildren and great grandchildren for well over 18 years. She wasn’t afraid to try anything.
In 1982, Marsha met her soulmate, Rodney Anderson and were married in 1984. She mostly helped her husband on the family farm, doing field work. She did a lot of “go for this” or “go for that”, whatever it took to keep things running smoothly. This was probably her most enjoyed work. Spending time ‘Up North” was always a joy and she was able to spend the whole summer several years, all at the same place for 30 years. Marsha played sports and was a big sports fan. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren compete and cherished spending time with them. She was a big Twins, Vikings, and Timberwolves fan.
Marsha is survived by her daughter, Ronda Bladzik of Titonka, IA; daughter-in-law, Kim Marks of West Bend, IA; six step-children, Chuck (JoAnn) Anderson of Blue Earth, Rick (Linda) Anderson of Vail, AZ., David (Kathy) Anderson of Blue Earth, Jerold (Lynn) Anderson of Blue Earth, Jean Staneart of Waseca, and Nancy (Mike) Palm, of Waseca; sisters, Lucy and Mary; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
