Marianne Mullaly

Marianne Ross Mullaly, 73, of Blue Earth, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by those who loved her, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

Marianne was born in Mankato, Minnesota, to Jane and Allen Ross. She attended Our Lady of Good Counsel growing up, where her warm spirit helped her build many lasting friendships. In 1975, she married the love of her life, Timothy John Mullaly, in Good Thunder, Minnesota. Together, they made their home in Blue Earth, building a life filled with family, service to others, and appreciation for many in the community. Dedicated to helping others, Marianne spent many years as a health information technician at United Hospital District and worked at several local clinics. As an active member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, she served as a Eucharistic minister, taught catechism, was a proud member of Teams of Our Lady, and shared her gift of music with the church guitar group. Guided by a spirit of service, Marianne and Tim also traveled to Honduras to share the ministry of Jesus Christ.

Above all, Marianne cherished the simple joy of being with those she loved—whether doting over her grandchildren, spending quality time with her husband and children, making connections over coffee with her friends and siblings, or enjoying memorable vacations in Escanaba, Michigan, with her husband and children. Through a brave, years-long journey with cancer, her strength shone brightly, and she drew endless comfort and gratitude from the overwhelming love of her family and friends.

Marianne’s love and memory will live on through her devoted husband, Tim; her sons Jon (Jen) and Ben; her daughter Katie (Chris Van De Hey); her daughter-at-heart Bridget; and her most cherished grandchildren Sophia and Charles Mullaly. She is also commemorated by her brothers, George and Steve, and sisters Teri and Rita; as well as a wide circle of beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins across the country.

She was reunited in eternal rest with her parents, Allen and Jane Ross of Mankato; her parents-in-law, Frank and Jane Mullaly of Ann Arbor, Michigan; her brother, James; her sisters, Cathy and Jeanne; her brothers-in-law, Daniel and Patrick Mullaly; as well as her beloved friends, Inez Breiter and Bill Bierly. Not to mention many more angels who welcomed her home.

A funeral service will be held  11AM at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at 10 AM, in the Holy Family Center. Friday, October 2, 2026.
