Marian Werner, age 89 of Blue Earth passed away Thursday October 31, 2019 at St. Luke’s Care Center. A funeral service will be held Tuesday November 5 at 11am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Monday November 4 at Patton Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Marian Irma Werner was born April 22, 1930 in Blue Earth, MN to William Fredrick and Sarah Lorine Anna (Haase) Arndt. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She completed school through the 12th grade.
On June 6, 1948 Marian was united in marriage to Harry Albert Werner at St. Paul Lutheran Church, they were blessed with four children. Marian worked at Green Giant and United Hospital District as a cleaning lady and at Blue Earth Elementary School as a full-time cook for 23 years then subbing as a cook for an additional 10 years after retiring. She is a former member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and she was also a leader for the Boy and Girl Scouts as well as a life long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Marian is survived by her son, Leon (Judy) Werner of Marshall, daughter LeAnn Hendrickson of Blue Earth, daughter Darlene (Tom) Macklin of Worthington and son Dennis (LeAnn) Werner of Sioux Falls, SD. Nine grandchildren, Sarah (Ted) Martin, Stacy (Mark) Huisman, Casey (Amber) Werner, Brady (Jericka) Lyon, Kristin (Travis) Woodwick, Tara (Patrick) Irlbeck, Morgan (special friend Christopher) Werner, Noah Werner, and Kylie Werner; fourteen great-grandchildren Lauren Martin, Samuel Martin, Mitchell (Chelsea) Huisman, Hanna (Tommy) Hayenga, Cayden Werner, Chase Werner, Colton Werner, Kynlee Lyon, Oaklyn Lyon, Kuyper Lyon, Aubrey Woodwick, Leila Woodwick, Hazel Woodwick and Piper Bye.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harry, her parents, brothers Albert Arndt, Alfred Arndt and Clarence “Tony” Arndt; sisters Luella Arndt and Frances Arndt and son-in-law Bryon Hendrickson.
