Margaret Ruth Johnson

Margaret Johnson, age 88 of Blue Earth passed away Thursday June 18, 2020 at St. Luke’s Care Center. A memorial service will be held Wednesday June 24, 2020 at 2pm at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth with Rev. David Fretham officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service and burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Elmore.

Margaret (Goltz) Johnson was born October 22, 1931 near Woodlake, MN to Alfred and Edna (Ziegler) Goltz. In November 1931, she was baptized at Posen Township Lutheran Church, Woodlake, MN. They moved to a farm near Elmore in 1933. She attended District #66, St. John’s Parochial and Elmore High School, graduating in 1949 and married Myron Johnson in 1950.

She enjoyed raising her family, she worked in a fabric store, then worked as a bookkeeper, then at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center for 15 years. In retirement she enjoyed her grandsons, gardening, quilting, teaching VBS & Sunday School, volunteering at St. Luke’s and at Trinity Lutheran, Elmore, especially with choir & as an organist for over 40 years.

Left to cherish the wonderful memories are her husband Myron, daughters; Connie Johnson (Robert Parker) and their son Samuel; Cindy (Bruce) Lyon and their sons Rodney and Caleb.

She is preceded in death by a son Monte at age 8 ½ years, her parents, and two brothers.
