Lois Marie Anderson

Lois Marie (Lyon) Anderson, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2018 at St. Luke's Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth.  Memorial services to celebrate the life of Lois will be held at 11 AM at Patton Funeral Home, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth, on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 with Rev. Matthew Lorfeld officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth.  Lois was born on Sept. 2, 1926, the daughter of Ray and Rose (Moleski) Lyon. She was raised in rural Blue Earth and graduated from high school in Elmore, MN. Lois’s first marriage blessed her with three children; Kathy Rose, Michael Louis and Patrick Allan. She later married Russell Anderson and gave birth to son, James Dean. Lois worked as a waitress at the American Legion for over 20 years and later provided cleaning services for the VFW. She was an avid reader of pretty much anything and everything, but especially enjoyed her daily newspaper. Lois was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Blue Earth, MN. Above all else, Lois loved her granddaughters both near and far and at age 77 insisted on being daycare three days a week for her granddaughter Maddie. They say one of the strongest people in the world is a grieving mother that wakes up and keeps going. Well, Lois did the unimaginable, not just once, but three times in her life, the last being the loss of her son Michael. And despite her own failing health she remained strong and kept going, even managing to attend Michael's funeral. We are so grateful for the time we had with Lois and are at peace knowing that she can finally be reunited with the rest of her children on the other side. We love you Lois, now and forever, and thank you for touching our lives in so very many ways. Rest in peace and we will see you again someday. Lois is survived by her husband, Russell Anderson; son, James (Deborah) Anderson of Blue Earth, MN; four granddaughters, Mysti Rorman Merrill of Benson, AZ, Jessica Rorman Orduno of Laguna Hills, CA, Melissa Rorman of Delavan, MN, Madalyn Anderson of Blue Earth, MN; 6 great-grandchildren; and her sister Kay Reardon of St. Joseph, MN and many other loving relatives and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her three children, Kathy Rorman, Michael Rorman and Patrick Rorman; her sister, Shirley; her brother, Howard; one infant brother and her parents.
