Larry was born on March 21, 1936, to Henry and Rosie (Neuenschwander) Wolf in Martin County, MN. He graduated from Truman High School in 1955. In June of 1955, he enlisted in the United States Navy and completed the boot camp training in Great Lakes, IL. After finishing his schooling at Brooklyn Navy shipyard, Larry was assigned to serve on the aircraft carrier, USS Saratoga for three years, completing a Mediterranean tour.
Larry married the love of his life, Bernice "Bea" Vogt on January 26, 1957 in St. James, MN. The couple lived in various states, including New Jersey. Then, they moved to Mayport, FL and later, to Norfolk, VA. In 1959, Larry and Bea settled in Blue Earth, where they raised their four sons, Rob, Rich, Scott, and Brad. After moving to Blue Earth, Larry worked at Blue Earth Light and Water as a steam engineer for six years. Then, after 30 years of working at the Green Giant, where his strong work ethic and his friendly demeanor made him a cherished colleague, Larry retired.
Larry was actively involved with his community- he was a dedicated member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and also a long-time member of VFW in Blue Earth and Wells. In addition, he served on the honor guard for many years. He participated in "Meals on Wheels" and served on the Riverside Cemetery board. Larry was a guy behind the scenes, a man of few words but many actions, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His strong faith and commitment to his loved ones never wavered, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Larry was known for his adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors. He enjoyed the thrill of snowmobiling, the tranquility of fishing, and the camaraderie found in hunting, often sharing these passions with his family and friends. In addition to his love for nature, Larry was an accomplished woodworker, creating beautiful pieces that showcased his talent, creativity, and dedication. Above all, he treasured spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always cherishing the moments they shared together.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Bea; sons, Rob, Rich (Julie), Scott (Shelly), and Brad (Misty); grandchildren, Jayme (Dan) Nawrocki, Jenna (Jared) Brietbarth, Taylor (Ben) Cameron, Ryan (Sarah) Pope, David (Lacy) Ellingson, Tannor (Delaney) Wolf, and Jerica (Connor) Wolf; great-grandchildren, Ty, Cole, Cadence, Dane, Deegan, Lucia, Madison, Chase, Ryler, and Rayden.
