Kermit Amundson, age 82 of Frost passed away Sunday March 3, 2024 at UHD in Blue Earth with his loving family by his side. A memorial service will be held 11AM Saturday March 16 at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth with Rev. Aaron Evenson officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service and burial will take place at South Blue Earth Lutheran Cemetery, rural Frost. Online condolences can be left at www.pattonfh.com
Kermit was born July 17, 1941 to Rolf and Unice Amundson in Frost. He was baptized and confirmed United Lutheran Church in Frost and graduated from high school in 1959. In 1966, he went to serve his country in the US Army, proudly serving in Germany during his enlistment. After returning from the service, he began working for Amoco in Frost. He never married but lived with his parents taking care of their needs until they passed. He grew up loving roller skating and ice skating. He was an avid ice skater, traveling to Mankato once a week, up until the last couple years. He also enjoyed watching the Vikings and college basketball. He was an independent, task-oriented person.
He is survived by his brother Willard (Mary) of Blue Earth, Rick (Terry) Anderson of MT. Vernon, IA, Ken (Donna) Anderson of Columbus, NE, Lisa (Al) Messner of Fargo, ND, Dennis (Sarah) Amundson of Mahtomedi, MN as well as other grand nieces and nephews.
Kermit is preceded in death by his parents, sister Beverly; brother in-law Dale Anderson.
Memorials are preferred to be given to UHD & United Lutheran Church
