Junice Elsie Huston

Junice Elsie Huston, age 92, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021 at St. Luke’s Care Center in Blue Earth. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 12 at 11 am at Patton Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Roettger officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service and burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. Online condolences can be left at www.pattonfh.com

Junice was born June 3, 1929 to Lars and Minnie (Schaumburg) Garvick in Springfield Township, IA. She was one of 16 children and her and brother Junior were one of three sets of twins. On October 7, 1948, she married the love of her life, Louis Huston, and they raised nine children. In addition to their busy family, Junice had a 19-year career at Winnebago Industries. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking/baking, reading, crocheting and volunteering at her church. She was a very hard worker, very protective of her family, the best at giving hugs and could always make you laugh. Junice and Louis were practical jokers and always pulling pranks on each other and other family members.

Left to cherish wonderful memories are her children, Linda Huston of Blue Earth, Marie (Bruce) Miest of Mankato, Phillip (Rhonda) of Lake Mills, IA, Lonnie (Tracey) of Walters and Jack of Kiester, 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, sisters Minnie Michaels and Violet (Bob) Armstrong, brother Lenny (Carolyn) Garvick, daughters-in-law Laurie and Lisa, as well as many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis, sons Larry, Thomas, Tim, John, infant granddaughter April, granddaughter Billie, grandson Derek, infant great-grandson Ander and 12 of her siblings.
