Judy L. Murphy

Judy L. Murphy, age 78 of Blue Earth, passed away at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center on Friday, July 16, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, July 23, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth with Rev. Matthew Lorfeld officiating. A time for visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-7pm at Patton Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at church. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth.

Judy was born on December 31, 1942 on the farm, just south of Amboy to Oscar and Irene (Sader) Renkly. She attended and graduated from Blue Earth High School. Judy worked as a bookkeeper and teller for First National Bank in Blue Earth for over 45 years. She married Charles “Chuck” Murphy on March 13, 1976 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth. Together the couple had one daughter, Renae.

Judy enjoyed watching sports, the MN Twins, and many game shows. Above all else she loved her family and especially her grandkids.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Chuck of Blue Earth; daughter, Renae (Darren) O’Rourke of Wells; 3 grandchildren, Issabella, Braxton, and Ivyella; brother, Greg (Annette) Renkly of Beaverton, OR; sisters, Beverly (Don) Peterson of Mankato, Helen Renkly of Mapleton, and Sandy (Kris) Miller of Mapleton; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Bolster of Kasson, and Pauline Allen of Mankato; and brother-in-law, Gene (Deb) Murphy of Blue Earth; and many more nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dianne (David) Cooper; brother-in-law, Michael Allen; and brother-in-law, Robert Evans.
