Joseph Patrick Black

Joseph Patrick Black, age 87, of Blue Earth, died Monday, January 1, 2018, at United Hospital District in Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 1:00pm-2:00pm Monday, January 8, 2018 at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth.  Funeral services will be 2:00pm at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev. Jeanette J. Bidne officiating.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato at a later date.  Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com He was born September 25, 1930, in Waseca, the son of Robert and Mary (Flynn) Black. Joseph is survived by his son, Thaddeus Hultengren of Mankato, grandson, Jeremy (Maria) Frank of Blue Earth, granddaughter, Angela Hultengren of CA, 11 great-grandchildren, including Reyes, Lulu, Clarissa, Isabella Frank whom he lived with, siblings, Alvin (Betty) Brandt, John “Smoky” Bauer, Cathy (Craig) Muellerleile, Geraldine (Bill) Wicks, Marvin Erickson, and Dorothy (Charlie) Hakes . Joseph was preceded in death by his daughter, Janice, sons, Rod and Wil, brothers, Ray, Leo and Robert, sisters, Helen and Rose, great-granddaughter, Oliva, and sister-in-law Shirley.
