Gary Tonn

Gary Tonn went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 16, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. 

Gary was born on August 10, 1945, in Blue Earth, MN.  He attended Blue Earth High School and went on to work for Ankeny Builders as a carpenter for 38 years.  He married Suzanne Lyon on July 10, 1976.  Gary was known as a hardworking man, and a jack of all trades.  He was especially skilled in carpentry, and also enjoyed gardening and working in his yard, and took great pride in its appearance.  He and his wife Sue shared a mutual love for antiques and collected many special pieces together over the years.  He was a member of Life Family Church in Blue Earth, and he was loved and esteemed by his church family.  Gary also loved spending time with his family members, who will miss him and cherish their memories with him.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Luella Tonn.  He is survived by his wife, Suzanne, of Blue Earth, MN; his son, Rodney Mead, of Cottage Grove, MN; his daughter, Jade (Nathan) Christensen, of Jackson, MN; his daughter, Vanessa (Chris) Gunzenhauser, of Winnebago, MN; his grandchildren Justin, Savanna, Spencer, Arianna, Maddison, Trevor, Morgan, Carter, Jacob, and Matthew; and his sister, Kathy (Lyle) Rippentrop, of Fairmont, MN. 

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on August 21 at life Family Church, 111 S. Ramsey St., Blue Earth, MN.  Visitation is at 10 a.m.
