Dalton Floyd Poppe

Funeral services for Dalton F. Poppe, 85, Blue Earth, will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Swea City, IA at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 1, 2017 with Rev. Todd Hartsock officiating.  Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth, MN.  Dalton died on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the United Hospital District in Blue Earth.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services in the church.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth. Dalton was born on October 16, 1931 in Rural Ledyard to William and Regenia Poppe. He graduated from Ledyard school before spending 4 years in the Air Force. He married Marjorie More on September 20, 1958. Dalton worked as an auto mechanic in Swea City, Iowa for over 40 years. They moved to Blue Earth in 2000. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Poppe; daughter, Janelle (Leroy) Ruse; granddaughters, Kristy Ruse; brother, Dennis (Paula) Poppe; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marie Poppe; son, Allen Poppe; grandson, Travis Ruse; one brother, Kenneth Poppe (Delores); one sister, Maureen Haun (Jim).
