Clarann Sayre passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, at the age of 93.
She grew up in Humboldt, South Dakota, and later graduated from South Dakota State University, where she met her beloved husband, Bill. They married and shared nearly 70 years together. They eventually made their home in Blue Earth, where they built a life rooted in family, community, friendships and connections.
Family was at the heart of Clarann's life. She had a wonderful way of showing her love through the things she did. She loved to cook and sew, generously sharing her creativity, talents, and skills with her family and friends. She took pride in making things for others and was always willing to teach, help, or lend a hand.
Clarann delighted in sports, especially women's basketball and the Minnesota Twins. She cherished traveling the world, relaxing at the cabin, sharing coffee with friends, and playing bridge with her longtime bridge group. These activities brought her many years of enjoyment and lasting friendships.
Being involved in church and community was another important part of Clarann's life. She was active in the Home Economists Club for more than 60 years and served as a county fair judge. She also devoted 37 years to the University of Minnesota Extension Committee, a remarkable commitment to an organization and community she cared about.
Clarann is survived by her husband, Bill; her daughters, Sharon (Mike) and Marsha (Kip); daughter-in-law, Katie; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who will carry her memory with them.
She was preceded in death by her son, Steven (Katie).
She will be remembered for her family, traditions, recipes, friendships, and her contagious laugh.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, Minnesota in Clarann's memory.
A private funeral and burial service will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
