Bryan Schultz

Bryan Schultz, age 78 of Blue Earth passed away Monday September 21, 2026 at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea with his loving family by his side. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11am Wednesday September 30 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth. Bryan was born February 14, 1948 in Blue Earth to Cletus and Lillian (Honken) Schultz. After high school, he attended Morningside College for a year before enlisting in the US Navy and proudly served our country for 4 years. During his enlistment, he served on a diesel submarine based in Key West. After his discharge, he returned to MN and started working for a loan company out of Minneapolis. There he would meet the love of his life on a blind date that his boss set him up on. He and Lola Lester went on their first date October 1, 1972 and the rest is history. They were married July 28, 1973. Together they built a life in the Blue Earth area, where Bryan worked in the human services dept for many years and also worked as a Veteran Service Officer until his retirement in 2010.

He and Lola loved to ride their Harley’s, often loading them and the camper up and traveling to different places throughout the US, going to different HOG rallies, 4-wheeling in the Black Hills and fishing and camping with family. He was also a talented wood worker, he and Lola did their own DIY projects at their house, remodeling almost all of it in the 30 years they’d been there. He also liked to tinker on his 1950 Chevy. He was a proud veteran and was a member of the American Legion, serving as commander at one time. In later years, Bryan enjoyed attending reunions of his shipmates and his Captain on the USS Trutta SS421 submarine.

Bryan will be missed dearly by his wife Lola of Blue Earth and his sister Patty (Steve) Hilpipre of Maple Grove, his nieces and nephews and other extended family and close friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
