Elizabeth Ann was born July 24, 1931 to Owen and Ruth (Hall) Swant in Granada Township. She was one of six children. Betty had a great love for music, she enjoyed singing, teaching piano and accordion lessons. But her talents did not stop there; she was an excellent seamstress, and a fabulous cook who loved to experiment with new recipes. In fact, she had a biscuit recipe that her sister to this day could never master! The care and compassion she had for others extended from being a personal care attendant for many years, working at St. Luke’s for 27 years and always remembering to send birthday cards to friends and family.
Those left to pass on her thoughtfulness are her sisters, Evelyne Bell and Ellen Matteson. Brother-in-law Marvin Burrows, sister-in-law Miryam Swant as well as many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding Betty in death are her parents, brother Elvin, sister Eileen Burrows and an infant sister, brothers-in-law Homer Bell and Wayne Matteson.
