Berneda "BJ" Jane Lawrence

Berneda “B.J.” Jane Lawrence, age 69, of Blue Earth, died Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Mayo Methodist Hospital in Rochester.

Visitation time will be from 4:00pm 7:00pm Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Patton Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at 11:00 AM, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. B.J. was born on June 1, 1949, to parents Harold & Bernice Engebretson.  She was baptized on July 31, 1949 at Bethel Church in Vinje, IA. On June 7, 1964, she confessed her faith and was confirmed. She graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1967, where she then went on to work in the medical field for many years. On April 6, 1974, Berneda was joined together in holy matrimony to Steven Phillip Lawrence.  To this union two children were born Sara Jane and Chad Steven.

B.J. enjoyed baking leftsa and krengla, planting flowers/gardening, visiting with friends and family, but what gave her the most pride & joy was spending time with her 7 grandchildren: Blake, Allison, Emma, Lindsey, Madeline, Samuel and Ellie.

B.J. is survived by her husband; Steven Lawrence of Blue Earth, daughter; Sara (Dave) Redepenning of Blue Earth son; Chad (Angela) Lawrence of Blue Earth, 7 grandchildren; Blake, Allison, and Madeline Redepenning, Emma, Lindsey, Samuel and Ellie Lawrence, of Blue Earth, brothers; Larry (Mary) Engebretson of Liberty, MO, Charles (Janice) Engebretson of Sartel and Marcus Engebretson of Mason City, IA.

B.J. was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Ellen Engebretson.
