Arnie was born January 1, 1935 to Walter and Ida (Hundt) Ehrich in Elmore. He was one of seven children. After completing school, he went on to work at Ehrich Plumbing in Elmore for several years. While working there he became smitten with the bookkeeper, Sharon Grant. They married in February 1982 and moved to Ledyard where Arnie worked at the grain elevator. In 2002 he and Sharon moved to Corwith but that didn’t stop him from returning to the farm in Elmore often to help his brother. Arnie liked to keep busy, was a very hard worker and was always willing to help others. He was a very social man and enjoyed giving people a hard time. He was a simple, no-fuss kind of guy who liked to have fun. He also enjoyed painting, watching Westerns, flowers, gardening and anything related to the outdoors.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Sharon of Corwith, son Richard Ehrich of Armstrong, daughters, Tammy (Monte) Leerar of Kanawha and Brenda (John) Cruise of Wesley. Eleven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, his sister Irma Franke as well as many other extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Arnie’s name to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elmore would be appreciated.
