ARDEN D TORKELSON, age 86, of Buffalo Center, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at United Hospital.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 11:00 AM, at Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore, with Rev. Robert Roettger officiating. Burial will be in West Cemetery, Rake, IA. Visitation time will be one hour before the service at the church. On May 24, 1953 she married Andre G. Torkelson at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Together they had 3 sons, Paul, Eric, and Craig.Arden enjoyed sewing, quilting, teaching Sunday school, working as the church secretary, and looking up the family ancestors in her spare time. She is survived by her husband, Andre Torkelson of Buffalo Center, her sons, Dr. Paul Torkelson of Reno, NV, Eric (Suzanne) Torkelson of Des Moines, Craig (Colleen) Torkelson of Des Moines, brother, Fred (Marilyn) Rau of Litchfield, MN, brother, Dennis Rau of Tasmania, sister, Carol Anderson of Rockford, IL, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Wesley and William Jr. sister, Yvonne.
