Dorothy Pearl Talbott

Dorothy Pearl Talbott, age 90, of Blue Earth, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 at United Hospital District in Blue Earth. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30AM on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Patton Funeral Home of Blue Earth with Rev. Merrill Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7PM on Friday, June 9 at Patton Funeral Home and a half hour prior to the service. A private family Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Irwin, Iowa. Dorothy was born on July 17, 1926 on a farm in rural Le Mars, Iowa to Ira and Edna Smith. She attended and graduated from Westfield high school in Westfield, IA in 1944. She married her high school sweet heart Art Talbott on October 9, 1944. They called many different places home due to Art''s career in the implement business. They made their final home in Fairmont, MN. Dorothy remained in Fairmont after Art''s passing in 2001 until moving to St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth in 2014 because of her health.Dorothy enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, arts and crafts, especially making ceramics for her children and grandchildren. She was a skillful player of both the piano and organ. Dorothy maintained a busy home entertaining her family and caring for her many pets throughout the years. Dorothy was a true Minnesota sports fan as an avid fan and critic of both the Twins and Vikings. Dorothy is survived by her children, Beverly Kuhl of Irwin, IA, Carla (Larry) Tesdall of Mesa, AZ, Randy Talbott of Reno, NV, Sherri De Jong of Blue Earth, MN. Dorothy was blessed with nine grandchildren; Sheila Peters of Crowley, TX, Scott (Tia) Kuhl of Palantine , IL, Sara (Aaron) Wagner of North Aurora, IL, Jason (Becky) Hill of Mesa, AZ, Katie Talbott of Bellevue, NE, Anna (Daniel) Krishnan of Monona, WI, Kassidy Talbott of Redding, CA, Ashley De Jong (Dustin Wiederhoeft) of Fairmont, MN, Joshua De Jong of East Chain, MN; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and several nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Art; parents; and sister.
