Andy Leland age 63, of Blue Earth, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at his home.As per Andys wishes a graveside service will be on Monday, June 26, 2017, at 11:00 AM, at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth on the family plot, with Rev. Brent Walker officiating. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comAndy was born August 9, 1953, in Minneapolis, to Edward and Marlene (Alfson) Leland. He was baptized on September 10, 1953 and was confirm on May 25, 1969 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. He graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1972. Following high school he attended voc tech school and obtained a boiler''s license. On September 8, 1984 Andy and Connie Wiedl were married at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Following the wedding, they made their home together in Blue Earth for the next 32 years. He was a 20 year volunteer fireman for the Blue Earth Fire Department retiring from the department in 2000. He was employed for over 34 years at the Blue Earth Light and Water retiring in 2009. Andy enjoyed golf, bow hunting, and fishing. One of his favorite activities was driving around the countryside looking for deer and other wildlife. His best buddy for these rides was his dog, Sophie, who enjoyed the outings as much as Andy did. The two were often seen riding on Andy''s moped together. During the winter months Andy enjoyed spending time in Apache Junction, Arizona.Andy is survived by his wife, Connie, of Blue Earth, father-in-law, George Wiedl, of New Ulm, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Marlene, 2 infant brothers, grandparents, and mother-in-law, Leatrice Wiedl. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Andys name.
