Funeral services for James H. Sohn, 82, Blue Earth, MN will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Blue Earth with Rev. Wes Hafner officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. James died on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the United Hospital in Blue Earth. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 4-7:00 pm at Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Blue Earth and one hour before the services in the church.James Harley Sohn was born on December 13, 1933 in Marna, MN to Ervin and Beatrice (Enger) Sohn. He attended country school and graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1951. James served from 1955-1957 in the US Army. On December 18, 1959 James was united in marriage to Donna DeSart in Sioux Falls, SD. In January of 1959, James began working for John Deere, in the parts department, where he stayed for 50 years. James was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, served on the board at the Senior Center, was active in golf, fast pitch softball, pool league and fishing. He loved to play cards. James loved his time with his grandkids and great grandkids. Left to cherish James'' memory are his wife, Donna Sohn, Blue Earth; two daughters, Vicky (Phil) Driscoll, Mankato, MN, Carla (Jim) Wagner, Blue Earth; one son, Rodney (Laura) Sohn, Otsego, MN; nine grandchildren, Amy, Philip, Taylor, Kellen, Kelsie, Courtney, Brandon, Rylee, Andrew; five great grandchildren, Eileen, William, Philip, Amelia, Kaydence; step mother, Margaret Schmidt; three sisters, Maxine (Lorne) Wassman, Ocheyedan, IA, Lynn (Bob) Shupe, Woodville, OH, Patricia (Raymond) Bell, Blue Earth; one brother, Wendell (Carol) Sohn, Jackson, MN; one step brother, Alfred Schmidt, Fairmont, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Edward Sohn, Glendon Sohn, infant brother, Harold Sohn.
