Allen Poppe

Allen R. Poppe, 56, of Minneapolis, formerly of Swea City, IA, passed away unexpectedly March 21, 2016 in Minneapolis.Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Monday, March 28, 2016 at the First united Methodist Church in Swea City, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery of Blue Earth.Allen was born July 21, 1959 to Dalton and Marge (More) Poppe in Blue Earth. He was confirmed at the Methodist Church in Swea City, IA, and graduated Swea City High School.He attended University of Northern Iowa and received his Bachelors Degree.Following graduation he pursued his career in Minneapolis.Allen enjoyed cars, photography, gardening and architecture. Family and friends meant a lot to Allen and he will be missed greatly. He is survived by his parents; sibling, Janelle (Leroy) Ruse of Muscatine, IA; niece, Kristy Ruse; Uncle, Dennis (Paula) Poppe of Fairmont; aunt, Carol More of Blue Earth; cousins, Charles (Carol) More, David (Shauna) More, Paul (Susan) More and Mary (Bob) Bell; and best friend, Russ Nelson. Allen was preceded in death by his grandparents; nephew, Travis Ruse; and uncles, Kenneth (Delores) More, Kenneth (Delores) Poppe and aunt; Maurrien (Jim) Haun.
