James L Oswald

James "Jim" L. Oswald, age 50 of Frost, Minnesota, passed away on June 21, 2016. He will always be remembered as a caring and loving individual. He was a great dad and husband who cared deeply for his family. Visitation will be 5-7pm Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Patton Funeral Home, and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday, June 27, 2016 at the United Lutheran Church in Frost, with Rev. Arne Halbakken officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. Web tributes can be made at www.pattonfh.comJim was born on January 22, 1966 in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Jim was the second born child to Raymond and Patricia Oswald. He grew up helping his dad and grandfathers farm near Frost, MN. He grew up around the horses his parents raised. He loved riding his horses around the area. He graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1984. Following high school he attended Canby Vocation and Technical College where he met the future love of his life, Deb. Soon after graduating they married in Springfield, MN on July 19, 1986. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Frost and continued farming. On November 20, 1987 they welcomed their daughter Melissa and she was followed by their two sons Thomas on August 3, 1990 and Andrew on June 4, 1994.Jim served for at least 30 years as a member of the Frost Volunteer Fire Department. He also worked as an EMT for Frost, and served for several years as the Ambulance Captain. He was an active member of the United Lutheran Church where he served on the council. Jim loved the Vikings, and would watch as many games as he possibly could. If he was in the fields he listened to the game on the radio. Some of Jim''s favorite moments were taking his children and grandchildren out into the fields to help farm, and taking Deb to classic 80''s concerts. He enjoyed movies, reading, studying history. He was a proud practitioner of the Minnesota Good-Bye. Survived by wife, Deb Oswald (Foss); children, Melissa Walders (Levi), Thomas (Sara), Andrew; grandchildren, Logan, Noah, and Jonah Walders, David Oswald; parents, Raymond and Patricia Oswald; sisters, Tammy Oswald (Kevin), KrisAnn Krause (Tom); and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by grandparents, Norman and Annabelle Oswald and Elvin and Dorothy Amundson; nephew, Ryle Amberg; and aunt and uncle, Lorraine and Willard Karkela
