Lorence John Busse

Lorence John Busse passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at his home in Blue Earth, MN. A Celebration of Life will be held for Lorence at 10AM on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Patton Funeral and Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th St., Blue Earth, with Rev. Brent Walker officiating. Visitation will be from 9-10AM. Lorence was born June 1, 1946 in Mankato to Walter and Ida Busse. He grew up in the Mapleton area where he was a member of St. John''s Lutheran church. He graduated from high school in Mapleton in 1964. After graduation he went into the Army, coming home after basic training to marry Diane Streuber. They were stationed in Frankfort, Germany where a son Christopher was born. After his Army time they moved to Mankato where Larry continued the work he had done in the Army of heavy equipment mechanic for International Harvester. He was also a warehouse manager for Sears.During the time in Mankato, another son Charles was born. Larry went to Vocational school in Mankato for computer repair and maintenance. Three months before he was to graduate, a company in Fort Dodge, Iowa hired him and he was awarded his diploma early. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha for a number of years doing computer work. His last place of employment was in Omaha, NE doing computer work for an Air Force Base. He retired to Blue Earth, MN where he did more work opening a small engine repair business which kept him busy until he actually retired in 2012.Larry loved his family and friends. He had an excellent talent of restoring cars; he enjoyed car shows and swap meets, movies, country western music and visiting with friends.He is survived by his ex-wife, Diane; 2 sons, Chris (Lisa) Busse, and Charles of Omaha, NE; two grandchildren, Adaisia and Austin; brothers, William of Fairmont, MN and Earl (Lois) Busse of Blue Earth, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers; Victor and Albert.
