Homer George Bell

Homer George Bell, age 91, of Blue Earth, MN, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 22, 2016. A Memorial Service for Homer will be held at 11AM on Thursday, August 25, 2016 with a visitation beginning at 10 AM at Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Blue Earth, MN. Condolences may be made online at www.pattonfh.com.Homer was born to Walter and Rose (Dau) Bell on August 31, 1924 in the home he resided his entire life. He attended District 29 Jo Daviess Township School through the 8th grade. Homer moved to Blue Earth and lived with his grandparents while attending Blue Earth area schools. He was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church on May 28, 1939.On June 8, 1949 Homer married Evelyne Mae Swant at the Assembly of God Parsonage in Blue Earth, MN. They were married 67 years. Homer and Evelyne farmed on the homeplace until they both semi-retired in the mid 80''s. On the farm they raised a family of four children; Kathleen, Janet, Joanne, and Wesley.Homer enjoyed being with his family and friends more than anything else. But he also enjoyed fishing and playing cards.Homer is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marvin (Myrl) and Eugene (Lois); sister, Anita Ubben.Homer is survived by his wife, Evelyne; children, Kathleen (Marvin) Wibben, Janet McCanna, Joanne (Tom) Clough, and Wesley Bell; grandchildren, Lee (Roxanne) Wibben, Joseph (Tiffany) McCanna, Katelyn McCanna, Anthony Clough, and Wilson Bell; great-grandchildren, Landon and Lillianna McCanna; step-grandson Jonathan (Kate) Clough; step- great-grandchildren, Andrew and Finley Clough; brother-in- law, Harold Ubben; and many other loving relatives and friends.Memorials preferred to donor''s choice.
