Susan Johnson, age 70, of Blue Earth, died Friday, January 16, 2015, at Parkview Care Center, Wells. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at 11:00 AM, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev. Vic Vriesen officiating. Burial will be in Vernon Center Cemetery, Vernon Center, Minnesota. Visitation time will be from 9:00 AM until service time Tuesday, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comSusan was born April 7, 1944, at Mankato , the daughter of Irvin and Harriet (Seitz) Krosch. She was raised in the Garden City area where she was a 1962 graduate of Garden City High School. She attended Mankato State University where she earned her bachelor''s degree in education. Susan began teaching and was soon married to Larry Peterson in July of 1965. The couple had two children. Susan loved God, her family and friends. She was a teacher, a published author and speaker, which gave her life joy and fulfillment. Susan wrote stories for Land Magazine for over 30 years and published a book regarding growing up on a farm in southern Minnesota. Following Larry''s death she was united in marriage to Stanley Johnson on December 23, 2006 in Blue Earth. Susan is survived by her husband, Stanley Johnson of Blue Earth, son, Wade (DeeAnn) Peterson of New Ulm, daughter, Sarah (Mike) Summerbell of Andover, brother, Kevin (Katherine) Krosch of Mankato, sisters: Debby (Wayne) Hohenstein of Vernon Center, Leslie (Bruce) McCormack of Springtown, TX, Becky Fox of Middleton, Wisconsin, Rachel (Dean) Depuydt of Mankato and two grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband.
