Leverne (Lee) C. Overson

Leverne C. Overson Jr., 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2015 in Mesa, AZ where he resided for nearly 19 years.Leverne (Lee) was born on February 6, 1947, in Mankato, MN, the son of Leverne and Elois Overson. Lee was raised in Blue Earth, MN where he graduated from High School in 1964. After high school he joined the Navy and became a member of the USS Rankin, where he participated in many exercises in the Caribbean. Lee was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1967 and he married Janice Thompson. Together they had two daughters; Michele and Heidi. Lee later married Deborah Hippel, whom he was married to for 36 years. He was able to enjoy a 40+ year career in banking and finance. His career took him to positions in Iowa, Wisconsin, Colorado and Minnesota. Most recently, he served as a Vice President for Washington Federal in Mesa, AZ, a position from which he retired in 2011. Lee loved spending time with his family, golfing, and was a die-hard Viking football fan. All of those who knew Lee will miss his sense of humor, gregarious personality and compassion for others. He will be missed and live forever in our hearts.He is survived by wife Deborah Overson of Mesa, AZ, his daughters Michele (Todd) Stewart of Elmore, MN, Heidi (Juan) Sanchez of Duluth, MN, his grandchildren Alexander, Zaine and Olivia Stewart of Elmore, MN, his mother Elois Overson of St. James MN, his brothers Lanny (Emma) Overson of St. James MN, Lynn (Mary) Overson of St. James, MN, Lowell (Kathy) Overson of Mantorville, MN, Larry (Lisa) Overson of Kennewick WA, his sister Lynda Overson of Mesa, AZ, and his brother-in-law John(Leilani) Hippel of San Diego CA. Lee is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Leverne C. Overson Sr.A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Patton Funeral Home, Blue Earth Minnesota. Interment will immediately follow at Riverside Cemetery also in Blue Earth, Minnesota.
