Funeral services for Eunice Rieffer Heggen, 93, Elmore, MN will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 1:30 pm at the Elmore United Methodist Church. Interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Elmore. Eunice died on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 5-7:00 pm at Patton Funeral Home, Blue Earth and one hour before the services in the church.Eunice Elmina Frerichs was born on December 15, 1921 to Frederich Nanne and Lena (Grensberg) Frerichs in Buffalo Center, IA. She attended school and graduated from Elmore. On April 6, 1940 Eunice was united in marriage to Frederich Rieffer, Jr. in Elmore. They lived in Rockford, IL from 1965-1986. He passed away on January 23, 1986. Eunice returned to Elmore in 1986. She then married Selmer Heggen on May 26, 1990 in Elmore. Eunice worked at several different manufacturing shops as a machinist retiring in 1982. She was active in her church. In 2010 she received the Woman of the Year Award from the UMW Church Group. Eunice enjoyed porcelain painting, canvas painting, quilting, gardening and making porcelain dolls. She loved to do painting parties for the grandkids and making special cakes for the grandkid''s and great grandkid''s birthdays. Eunice is survived by her husband, Selmer Heggen, Blue Earth; son, Alfred (Betty) Rieffer, Baltimore, MD, daughter, Beverly (Lorman) Jahnke, Elmore, son, Howard (Georgena) Rieffer, Rockford, IL, Robert (Geraldene) Rieffer, Rockford, IL, daughter, Susan Dickson, Elmore; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 12 great, great grandchildren; sister, Irene Rieffer, Conger, MN; brother, Ervin Frerichs, Middleton, IL, brother, Ronald Frerichs, Surprise, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frederich Rieffer; son, Roger Dean Rieffer; brothers, Edgar and Bernard Frerichs; son-in-law, Duane Dickson; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.Memorial contributions may be given to the United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or to the charity of your choice.
