DONALD "DON" A. VANDERFORD, age 85, of Fairmont formerly of Elmore, died Monday, May 18, 2015, in the Lutz Wing at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont.Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015, at 12:30pm, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev. Robert Roettger officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Elmore. Visitation time will be 1 hour before the service, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth. Don worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for over 40 years retiring as an Assistant Forman.He loved watching Nascar Races, fishing, skiing, tennis, cars, trucks, and working on and playing with his CB Radios.He is survived by his brothers, Duane (Fern) Vanderford of Blue Earth, Darold (Arleen) Vanderford of Fairmont, niece, Debra (Earl) Kvitten of Rochester, niece, Dixie (Dave) Ruppert of Winona, niece, Darlys (Bob) Krulish of Rochester, niece, Kathy (David) Neswold of Stewartville, niece, Cindy (Val) Penney of Iowa City, nephew, Bruce (Jenny) Vanderford of Fairmont, 12 great nieces & nephews, 4 great-great nieces & nephews.He was preceded in death his parents, and many aunts and uncles.
