Matthew James Ulrich

Matthew James Ulrich, 56, of Blue Earth passed away at his home Saturday October, 17, 2015.Visitation will be 9:00 AM 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Patton Funeral Home of Blue Earth. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM at Patton Funeral Home. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery of Blue Earth with Military Honors.Matthew was born April 12, 1959 to Amil and Audrey (Turvey) Ulrich in Minneapolis MN. He graduated from New Ulm High School in 1978. Matthew then attended the University of Minnesota Morris campus and Immanuel Lutheran College studying History and Theology. On November 29, 1980 he married Susan Pillsbury, and together had four sons. Then, on April 16, 1994 he married Donna Hildebrandt and they were blessed with a fifth son. Throughout his life he worked in various occupations. He served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer, as a Sheriff in Missouri, a laborer at the AMPI Butter Plant, an Area Manager for Dominium Properties, a Custodian at Blue Earth Area High School, and a Lutheran Pastor.Matthew enjoyed blogging on his website (www.lutheranwatchman.weebly.com), fishing, target shooting, camping and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a jack of all trades, and talented in all aspects of his handy work. He will be remembered as a dedicated husband and father. He strived to live his life by God''s Word, and impressing on his children, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." (1 Corinthians 10:31) He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Donna; sons, Aaron (Kim) Ulrich, Timothy Ulrich, Zachary Ulrich, Christian Ulrich and Travis Ulrich; grandchildren, Dylann, Whinny, Hailey, Layron, Mehlodia and Audrey; mother, Audrey Ulrich; siblings, Elizabeth (Sherwood) Wessel, Mary-Anne (James) Schwartz, Naomi (George) Hansen, Martin Ulrich, Titus Ulrich, Paul (Allison) Ulrich, Sarah Bischoff, Esther (Brian) Rath and Ethan (Stephanie) Ulrich; parents-In-law, Wilbert and Arlene Hildebrandt; brother-in-law, LeRoy Hildebrandt and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Matthew is preceded in death by his father, Amil Ulrich and brother, Job Ulrich.
