David (Toots) Allen Smith

DAVID (TOOTS) ALLEN SMITH, age 61, of Elmore, died Monday, November 2, 2015, at UHD.A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015, at 5:00pm-7:00pm, with a celebration of his life to follow at 7:00pm, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth, with Rev. Michael Roys officiating. Burial will be in West Cemetery, Rake, IA. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comHe was born October 11, 1954, at Fairmont, the son of Lowell and Helen (Rademaker) Smith. He graduated from Blue Earth High school in 1973. He married Wanda Garvick on March 16, 1984 in Fairmont. David was a hard worker doing cement work most of his life, and was an excellent block layer. He enjoyed farm work and working with cattle over the years. He loved anything outdoors, especially goose hunting, bird watching, fishing and vacations up north at the cabin. He loved spending time with friends and family, most of all his grandson Ryder.He is survived by his wife, Wanda Smith of Elmore, daughter, Heather (Ryan) Adams of Ledyard, brother''s, Marlin (Kathy) Smith of Fairmont, Steve (Nancy) Smith of Blue Earth, Greg "Shorty" Smith of Blue Earth, sister''s, Jeanne (Brian) Schofield of Fairmont, Pam (Jim) Tonn of Winnebago, Diana Smith of Eden Prairie, Wendy (Steve) Brown of Blue Earth, and grandson, Ryder Adams of Ledyard.He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Harlan Smith.
