Donald LeRoy Teems, 79, of Blue Earth passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015 at his home. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Monday, November 23 at the First Baptist Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Joel DeNeui officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 PM 4:00 PM Sunday, November 22 at the Patton Funeral Home of Blue Earth, and 1 hour before the service at the church. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. Online Condolences www.pattonfh.comDon was born August 14, 1936 to Everett "Red" and Caroline (Taylor) Teems in Elmore MN. He grew up in Elmore and attended school there, until his family moved to Ledyard, IA where he finished his senior year of high school. After graduation Don joined the United States Army and was a sergeant for five years. On January 9, 1958 Donald married Shirley Ann Cassens in Blue Earth and together raised their two sons.He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley; son, Mark (Cheryl) Teems of Blue Earth; daughter-in-law, Gina (John Abbott)Teems of Grand Rapids; three grandchildren, Taylor(Cali) Teems of Blue Earth, Trevor Teems of Canton, SD, and Marisa Teems of Grand Rapids; one great-granddaughter Harper Teems of Blue Earth.Donald was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mike Teems and sister Marlys (Teems) Elwood.
