NEVA QUADAY, age 89, of Blue Earth, died Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at her residence Southview Estates.Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014, at 10:30 am, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, with Father Peter Klein & Father Jon Moore officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 3:00 5:00pm Sunday February 16, 2014 at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth, and 1 hour before the service at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comShe was born October 11, 1924, at Minnesota Lake, MN, the daughter of Helmuth and LaRue (Newcomb) Fischer. She graduated from Minnesota Lake Grammar School in 1938. Her high school days were spent at Blue Earth High School. She was baptized on October 19, 1924, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with Father H. M. Ouszkowski officiating. On January 19, 1942, Neva was united in marriage to Richard Ralph Quaday, son of William and Lorena (Levenick), at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father John Mich officiating. They parented three sons and six daughters.Neva farmed with her husband on the Sailor place, which is located one and one half miles southwest of Blue Earth. They moved into the Home Farm, upon the retirement of William and Lorena Quaday, where they farmed for 70 years. Neva also worked for JC Penney in Blue Earth for 10 years, where she managed the fabric department.Neva enjoyed her hobbies of sewing, needlework, hardanger including the SS Peter & Paul altar cloths, baking, cooking, and projects with the Faribault County Extension programs, after devoting her favorite hours with her family. The Quaday Family Christmas Card photos for eleven years were the imagination of Neva, combined with her talents to take the photo, and develop the pictures at home. She initiated plans and served the food for family reunions for both the Quaday and Fischer sides of the family for many years, which were held on the Home Farm.She and Richard enjoyed going to the Casinos, later in their retirement years. Neva volunteered for many church clubs, including Catholic Daughters where she held the office of Grand Regent, sewing, baking, leader for the 4-H for 21 years and was a life member of the Faribault County Historical Society.She is survived by her husband, Richard Quaday of Blue Earth, her sons Charles (Jan) of South Haven, MN, Dr. James (Karen) of Dellwood, Michael (Rose) of Shoreview and daughters, Kathryn "Kay" (Larry) Husfeldt of Brownton, Joan Wilson of Westfield, IN, Mary (Jim) Stoffel of Isanti, Jeanette Jorgenson of Eden Prairie, Pauline (Merlyn) Siem of Blue Earth, Margaret "Peg" (Craig) Kalskett of Leland, Iowa. Her grandchildren William Quaday, Melissa (Tim) Owens, Steven Quaday, Joe Lacher, Eric (Jill) Lacher, Shelli Wilson, Jessica (Ben) Larson, Nico Quaday, Rachel Quaday, Jason (Jerusha) Siem, Jeff (Julie) Bormann, Anna, Lorena and Andrew Bormann. Great grandchildren, Rachel Quaday, Geneva Grace Owens, Valencia Owens, Stevie Lee Lacher, Hank Larson, Sammy Larson and Dasha Lee Sankey. Step-grandchildren, Evan Husfeldt, Sydney Husfeldt, Tom Stoffel and Steven Siem. She is also survived by her sister, Gloria Harris of Mapleton and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Helmuth and LaRue (Newcomb) Fischer and sisters, Mary Sorenson and Ruth Klinder.
