Helen Kabe, age 84 of Blue Earth, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Goldfinch Memory Care in Fairmont. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth with Rev. Dr. Mark Wilms officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Blue Earth and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Goldfinch Memory Care in Fairmont.Helen was born August 24, 1929 in Faribault Co., MN the daughter of Victor B. and Anna (Ficken) Anderson. She was raised in East Chain and was a 1947 graduate of Blue Earth High School. She was married to Wayne W. Kabe on June 10, 1947 in Blue Earth. Helen was a homemaker and an assistant with the Kiester Schools and later Winnebago School System for 20 years. Following Wayne''s death in 1985 she was later married to Thomas Brown in 1990. Helen was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth where she was active in church circle. She enjoyed golfing, playing bridge and making unique birthday cakes for her children.She is survived by her son, Roger (Nancy) Kabe of Mason City, Iowa, daughter Kathy Engman (& friend Jim Droegemueller) of Fairmont, son, Steve (Barb) Kabe of Madison, Wisconsin, son, Neil Kabe of Fairmont, brothers-in-law: Robert Kabe of Blue Earth, John Planting of Ceylon, Bob Nielsen of Armstrong, Iowa, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, brother, Wayne Anderson and sisters Dorothy Nielsen & Darlene Planting.
