Ann Marie Cassens

Ann Marie Cassens, age 97, of Blue Earth, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center Chapel in Blue Earth, with Rev. Joel DeNeui officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 1 hour before at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center Chapel, 1219 S. Ramsey in Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comShe was born April 19, 1917, at McIntosh, SD, the daughter of Joseph & Bertha (Feil) Pudwell. She graduated from high school in 1934. On November 6, 1934 she married Onnen Burton Cassens. Ann worked with her husband doing all the daily chores on the farm, raising the children, cooking and baking with her specialty being angel food cake. During the summer months she also helped with canning season at Green Giant in Blue Earth. For over 30 years she and her husband spent the winter months in Arizona.She was a lifetime member at the First Baptist Church in Blue Earth, and was very involved with her family which meant the world to her. Ann Marie Cassens is survived by her daughter, Arlene (Raymond) Peterson of Cross Lake, MN, daughter, Shirley (Donald) Teems of Blue Earth, daughter, Connie Weise of Hutchinson, daughter in law, Sue Cassens of Blue Earth, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Onnen Burton Cassens, son, Larry Cassens, grandsons, Mike Teems, Timothy Weise, sister, Irene Pudwell, and son-in-law, Merlin Weise.
