Marvin E. Krosch, age 78, of Elmore, died Friday, June 20, 2014, at Mayo Health Systems, Fairmont. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore, with Rev. Robert Roettger officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Elmore. Visitation time will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Monday at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth and one hour prior to services at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comMarvin was born December 14, 1935, in Elmore, the son of Marion and Sylvia (Sailor) Krosch. He was raised in Elmore where he attended country school and graduated from Elmore High School in 1955. He was married to Myrna L. Viland on June 14, 1956 at Shiloh Lutheran Church Parsonage in Elmore. The couple lived in rural Blue Earth before moving to the family farm in rural Elmore more than 50 years ago. Marvin had also worked at Arends Sale Yard for 52 years before his retirement in 1999. Marvin was active in Shiloh Lutheran church, a member of Elmore Saddle club for many years and a 4H leader with Pilot Grove 4H club assisting his Children with Beef, Swine and horse projects, and was a Snowmobile safety instructor. He enjoyed watching his Grandchildren grow and was supportive of their many activities. He enjoyed going to their lake home at Nodak Lodge on Lake Winneboshish fishing and relaxing with friends and Family.Marvin is survived by his wife, Myrna Krosch of Elmore, his children: Marlyn (Dana) Krosch of Custer, SD, Michael Krosch of Elmore, & Melissa (Robert) Garry of Granada, his brothers and sisters: LaVaonne Swearingen of Kiester, Janet (Donnie) Richter of Milaca, Joanne Fiser of Minneapolis, Glen Krosch of Blue Earth, Gwen (Beverly) Krosch of Elmore, Bruce (Julie) Krosch of Blue Earth, Brad (Lisa) Krosch of Blue Earth, Kathy Krosch of Minneapolis, Loree (Dean) Vereide of Blue Earth, Darla (Jeffrey) Schaefer of Blue Earth and five grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Berle, Paul, Phillip & Bryce Krosch and an infant brother.
